THE WARLOCKS
WARLOCK: [ wawr-lok ] noun.
Although witches are ultimately much more powerful, warlocks mature and gain their full potential at a much earlier age. As pre-teens they are already well-versed in Incantation, Potion and Thought Magic and most pre-adolescent warlocks achieve the ability to Levitate around the age of ten. Warlocks do not have the power to perform Transformation Magic, but by the time they are in their early adolescence most have achieved full mastery of 4 out of the ‘5 Forms of Magic’ and have become very powerful and dangerous. The power that they wield puts them at the top of the food chain at a very young age, but without the use of their magic, they would be no match for a vampire’s strength or the speed and viciousness of a lycan. Like their female counterpart, warlocks can also draw from their Qi (chi) and use it as a weapon. The more powerful the warlock; the more powerful the Qi; the more powerful the blast. A warlock has an average life span of just under a century, but unlike that of a witch, their powers will slowly begin to atrophy late in life as their mind begins to falter. Vampire toxin is lethal to them as well mortal wounds. Warlocks can only impregnate a woman once, whether his mate is a witch or a human, he becomes infertile. In fighting mode, a superior warlock can also levitate 12 – 14 inches off the ground. A superior warlock can reach speeds around 35mph and will be 3X as strong as an above average human male.

THE COUNCIL OF WARLOCKS
Established in Lincolnshire, England in 1692, one year after the Salem Witch Trials.

The Council consists of 5 elder warlocks, assembled for deciding matters of doctrine or discipline throughout the warlock community. Their actual identities remain hidden to all but a select few. Over the centuries the society has grown and formed other branches within the organization to enforce legislation, and, or eliminate problems that may arise. The five governing members have the “Symbol of The Council” branded or tattooed somewhere, hidden, on their body, and theyhold their seats for life. Other members carry a necklace, ring or charm with the symbol on it. Membership is based on loyalty, wisdom and strength, not wealth. The organization promotes from within, although you can be a lifelong member and never become one of the governing five. The modern-day Council’s main headquarters still lies beneath Tattershall Castle, in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire. Like any government, The Council has branches which consist of:
1.) GOVERNORS – The five elder warlocks whose identities are hidden to all but a privileged few. They lead simple, normal lives and reside somewhere in Tattershall Village.
2.) ADMINISTRATORS – The largest body of The Council, these members are spread out across the globe.
A.) Elite Administrators are comprised of a small group of the most gifted warlocks who work directly with and answer only to the Governors. Their work is highly classified and secret. Should a Governor fall, one of these select few would be next in line to replace him.
B.) Top Administrators handle everything from writing legislation and doctrine to policing policy. They deal in business affairs, finance, and public relations with both, other demons, and the select group of humans who know of their existence.
C.) Administrators are comprised of half-breed warlocks and humans. They handle the bookkeeping, number crunching and clerical duties that are passed down to them. They are well taken care of, but can never be promoted to the next rung.
3.) ENFORCERS – An extremely talented, highly specialized group of superior warlocks, trained solely for the purpose of dealing with problems. Detection; management; elimination. They are on the same level as Elite Administrators and answer only to the Governors. Like Elite Administrators, should a Governor fall, one of these select few could be next in line to replace him.
Symbol of the Council
The emblem used to identify Council members to one another. Two crescent moons, just touching each other – waxing on the left; waning on the right – superimposed over a circle/full moon, with the four pointed tips of the crescents extruding the circumference. A black snake, formed in the shape of a ‘W’ – head on the left; tail on the right intertwines through the two crescents.
