THE MAGIC
THE 3 LAWS OF MAGIC:
1.) YOU CANNOT STOP TIME.
No time travel; No freezes of time. Highly-skilled practitioners, or ones with tremendous power and potential can stop ‘objects’ within time, but it puts a significant strain on their mental and physical capacities.
2.) YOU CANNOT BRING BACK THE DEAD.
Spirits and ghosts can remain or be trapped in this realm, but they can never regain their physical body. When you’re gone – you’re gone. No kind of magic that can change that.
3.) MAGIC WILL COST YOU.
A person can only run so far before they fatigue. The longer the distance, the more fatigued they become, and the longer the recovery time that’s needed. It’s the same with magic practitioners. Their Qi is their life force and when they pull from it, they weaken themselves. They DO NOT have an unlimited power source. Once they’ve expelled their energy, like everyone else, they must recover. Recovery is different for every being and during this time they are at risk for injury, or being killed.
THE 5 FORMS OF MAGIC:
1.) INCANTATION
The chanting or uttering of words purporting to have magical power if spoken properly. A spell or charm. Usually employed by young witches & warlocks, although superior practitioners often use it, simultaneously with other forms, to boost, or heighten that particular form. Any form can be accomplished through incantation, although the more complex the magic, the longer the spell. In situations when time is an issue, Incantation Magic will most likely get you killed, because an adversary will never allow you to finish the spell.
2.) POTION
A drink or draft, especially one having or reputed to have medicinal, poisonous, or magical powers. Also known as Bookworm Magic. It can be boosted when combined with Incantation Magic.
3.) THOUGHT
Advanced. Magic that is employed without the use of words. This is highly elevated magic and separates good practitioners from great ones. Knowledge is essentially converted into energy. The more powerful the brain, the more powerful the practitioner. Energy can also be drawn from one’s life force and be distributed in multiple ways. Hand gestures can help centralize, contain and guide the energy if needed.
4.) LEVITATION
Advanced. To raise and suspend one’s body slightly off the ground. It is an extension of Thought Magic and requires a great deal of power to execute, and even more to move fluidly after doing so. If accomplished, it will drastically increase the individual’s speed.
5.) TRANSFORMATION
Advanced. The ability to change one’s form, appearance, or structure; metamorphose. It is the highest form of magic and the most difficult to perform. Only witches have the power to execute this form of magic.
