I don’t believe in writer’s block.
I don’t accept it.
Instead, I think,
“What would I do in real life?”
In real life, I don’t just stop and pout
when I go down an alley
and find out it’s a dead-end.
I do ‘something.’
Whatever that ‘something’ is –
that’s what I write –
even if it seems like a terrible idea.
It’s never easy to get into the ‘writing mode’
(where you’re fully immersed in the story).
When you do finally achieve this state,
you don’t want to lose that momentum
by stopping for an extended time.
Keep the process going.
Finish the scene or chapter
and then move on to the next.
I’ll most certainly go back and change it later on,
but I didn’t lose my momentum,
because I never stopped writing.▊
